Rudomatic

Rudomatic Inc manufacturer of coil spring automatic taglines and magnet reels

The world's leading manufacturer of coil spring automatic taglines and magnet reels.

The Rud-O-Matic Tagline holds a clamshell bucket steady regardless of the boom angle while the bucket and its load is suspended in the air. Operation is completely automatic after installation. Bell Guide fairlead requires no sheaves, pins or lubrication.

The Rud-O-Matic Tagline operates on a coil spring system that maintains constant, positive tension on a clamshell bucket or other types of crane loads.  The unit mounts on a crane boom and consists essentially of a cable reel, cable wire, spring-loaded cylinders, and a bell fairlead.

The Rud-O-Matic is offered in Single Barrel Tagline, Double Barrel Tagline, Triple Barrel Tagline and Four Barrel Taglines. Additional available options are Single, Double, or Triple Combination Magnet Reel s, Four Collector Ring Magnet Reel for high volt-low amp applications and finally the Combination Hydraulic Hose Reel and Tagline.

SPECIFICATIONS AND MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS

Rud-O-Matic Taglines are manufactured in multiple models to accommodate various size buckets and booms. Each model is engineered to have sufficient cable pullout with the required positive tension to provide full control of the bucket in operation. Tagline model specifications and manufacturer's recommendations for different buckets and booms are given below.

SHEAR PIN BREAKING POINT. To prevent coil spring over-winding, shear pin in bearing is designed to break and release spring tension if cable reel exceeds maximum recommended number of turns. Consult proper columns in chart to determine maximum number of cable reel turns for tagline model before shear pin will break.

SPECIFICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATION FOR SINGLE BARREL CMR & SMR MODELS USED WITH HIGH VOLT-LOW AMP DC POWER

The Rudomatic Single Barrel CMR and Standard Magnet Reel are each manufactured in five basic models to accommodate different size magnets and loads. This chart provides data for a range of combination and is designed to serve as a guide in selecting the most suitable model.

FOR STANDARD MAGNET REELS on booms or overhead cranes, tagline cable pullout figures provide a close approximation for length of electric cable to be used. Diameter and weight of magnet have no bearing in determining length of electric cable for Standard Magnet Reel.

SPECIFICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATION FOR NON-SINGLE BARREL CMR & SMR MODELS USED WITH HIGH VOLT-LOW AMP DC POWER

The chart below provides data on a range of available models using high volt-low amp DC power. Models with 1200-numbers indicate double barrel magnet reels; models with 1800-numbers indicate triple barrel magnet reels. The same model number applies to either the Combination or Standard Magnet Reel. Specifications are the same, except for tagline cable pullout. The list is included to help our customers select other models that may also suit their needs.
