Tropical storms of wind speed greater than 74 mph are called different names based on what part of the world the storm is in. In the North-Western hemisphere these are called Hurricanes. In the North-Eastern Hemisphere they are called Typhoons. The east and west hemispheres are separated by the international dateline. Below the equator and in the Indian Ocean large tropical storms are called Tropical Cyclones.

Romo, Cowboys Roll In Stadium’s Debut

Dallas Cowboys fans got a glimpse of everything they were hoping to see Friday night. Their new stadium dazzled. Tony Romo was darn good. And the Cowboys won, pretty easily. In the first football game at the nearly $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium, Romo looked right at home, going 18 of 24 for 192 yards and sending Dallas on its way to a 30-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans in a preseason game. “It was incredible,” Romo said, comparing the atmosphere to a regular-season game.

Good news, Cowboys fans: The Jessica Simpson Curse has been lifted! Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo broke he’s relationship off with Jessica last week before her 29th birthday. This after Jessica bought Tony a boat for this birthday. What a deal.

There still may be some hope though, as Simpson posted on her Twitter account “Everyone need to know that hope floats…grab the strings and pull it back to you”.

Lets just all hope that she pulls him back after the Cowboys win the Superbowl this year. Go Cowboys!!!

Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood shared the stage Tuesday 23rd June at the American Airlines Arena (Center) in Dallas, Texas as their U.S. tour entered its final week. Walking on stage shortly after 8PM, the enthusiastic crowd was treated to Blind Faith Classics, material from Clapton’s and Winwood’s solo careers, blues and Hendrix’s “Voodoo Chile”.

There were no changes to the 20 song set list from the past several show. The next three shows are in Houston, Texas, Glendale, Arizona and ending in Los Angeles on 30th of June.

Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas Perform Duet In Texas

Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance at the Jonas Brothers’ first concert stop in Arlington, Texas inside the New Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Cyrus performed “Through the Storm” with beau Nick Jonas, whom she “reconnected” with after splitting from Justin Gaston, 20.

Tippett Out, Crawford In

New General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk fired Dallas Stars coach Dave Tippett and hired Marc Crawford. Crawford quoted the late Tom Landry saying “If I have to push people, I’ll push people.

This means that  Texas Rangers Coach Ron Washington now has the longest tenure as a local head coach.  All eyes will now be on the Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Wade Phillips to see what he can do this year. All indications lead to the Super Bowl or bust…..

George Strait, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, and Julianne Hough will open the brand new Cowboys Stadium Saturday night in Arlington, Texas. The $1.1 Billion Stadium built as the home of the Dallas Cowboys and AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic seats 80,000 and has the capacity to expand to 100,000. It includes 300 luxury suite and is the largest, most technologically advanced sports and entertainment venue in the world.

The stadium will also host the 2011 Super Bowl, 2010 NBA All-Star Game and 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.

 

Reunion Arena Demolition

Local news sources reported that the well known Reunion Arena demoliton project is under way.  Since the completion of the new American Airlines Center, the old arena has lost serveral million dollars and the city has decided to tear it down.
